Guidelines for writing a reflection for the research paper and Raisin in the Sun
Answer the following questions in paragraph format providing examples for clarification. Assess the text(s): 1. What is the main point of what you are writing about (poem, research experience. etc)? How is it written or how was the process completed? Identify any impact(s) that you felt from the poem or the writing process. 2. What ideas stood out to me? Why? Were they new or in opposition to existing ideas or text? Develop your ideas: 1. What did I know previously about this topic? What were the observations or experiences that shaped my understanding? Were they personal or were they from watching people and/or reading books or watching television? 2. Do I agree or disagree with the points made in the poem or from gathering my research? Make connections: 1. How does this text reinforce my existing ideas or assumptions? How does this text challenge my existing ideas or assumptions? 2 How does this text relate to the modern day and my generation? |
For the Poem reflections:
Each poem should have its own reflection with it being roughly a paragraph in length with vivid examples from the poem. For the research paper reflection: You should include your feelings about the process of how you learned the information, the process of working with a partner as well as the final part about completing the presentation on your topic. Include the good points as well as the points that you found most challenging. |
